Welcome to NYJSM.com, the integration of two worlds - style and medicine. This site was established in 2007 with the intention of informing the public about a host of issues that affect the lives of Generation Y. At its core, the New York Journal of Style and Medicine is devoted to promoting health awareness and raising funds for medical and research foundations by way of the trend-setting community in the fashion capital of America, New York City.

While educating the attentive ill remains straightforward, educating the inattentive healthy is an art. The young, healthy, and seemingly omniscient population's attention (which I'll admit includes me) has historically remained elusive to the medical community. NYJSM.com is my creative attempt to captivate and infuse knowledge about health and medicine into our increasingly busy lifestyles.

I became motivated beyond the usual studies of preventive medicine. I devoted as much time as possible to the notion of merging the realms of medicine and entertainment, so much so, that I justified having my medical career on hold to pursue this concept before continuing on with my residency training in emergency medicine. I am passionate about the idea of promoting and understanding this seemingly straightforward union of style and medicine given the fact we are after all, human. There is no school that instills being human more so than a medical school. My goal is to seek a realistic way to communicate with the healthy about the importance of health and medical awareness.

The New York Journal of Style and Medicine is an editor-reviewed, web-based medical publication written by doctors who are passionate about reaching out to the non-medical community about a variety of topics. It also contains artistic material and interviews that explore many aspects of entertainment which include but are not limited to music, photography, modeling, fashion, design, and art, along with professional athlete and celebrity interviews as they relate to medicine. Most importantly, we are reaching out to a generation and asking them to consider the endless possibilities in the art of educating oneself about health.
